Restored Kawasaki Z1 Motorcycles
These are photos of my customer's restored Kawasaki Z1 900 motorcycles -- using Paintworkz painted body part kits and Paintworkz Formula Z1 paint.
I painted this late model 1973 for a customer the New York. He has owned it for a number of years, but it had the typical black paint job
when he bought it. Added 7-27-2008

I originally painted this early production, built in 1972, 1973 Z1 for a customer in California. He has since sold it and the new owner has it on display for a year in the
Antique Motorcycle Club of America Museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Added 7-19-2008

This customer bought a paint kit from me and then had Brauns Auto Builders in Richmond, Indiana spray the colors. He has owned this 1973,
which has a 2-73 build date, for around 20 years now. Added 5-24-2008

This 1975 Super Candy Red paint job was done for a customer in sunny Florida. The bike is 1980 KZ1000 LTD that he has owned forever
and he just finished totally restoring it. He did some modifications to fit reproduction Z1 side covers, along with a Z1 tank and tail section,
to the KZ frame, and then sent the parts to me for painting. Added 5-2-2008

I painted this 1975 Z1B Candy Super Red body kit for a customer in Tasmania. It was the finishing touch to his restoration,
which he then rode a very long distance to attend the 2008 Australian Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Show. Added 4-8-08

This is a low VIN# U.S. model early 1973 Z1 I painted for a customer in the United Kingdom.
He has done a beautiful total restoration job on it and is when it is 100% completed I am sure it will do very well at the shows this year.
Added 3-18-2008

This is a painted body kit for a customer in Minnesota. It went on his nicely restored, late 1972 built, low VIN # Z1.
The original body parts were saved from repainting since they were in decent original condition.
Oddly, the original paint color was actually in between the typical early model color and the standard 1973 color, so I tried to duplicate that original color.

This one owner 1973 Z1 900 was painted for a customer in Ohio. He totally restored it for his uncle, who is the original owner.
They placed second in class at the 2007 AMA Mid-Ohio Vintage Days Show. First in class went to the original paint 1973 Z1 in the background. Added 8-26-07

This 1973 Z1 was painted in the European colors for a customer in California. Added 8-25-07

This low VIN 1972 Z1 900 was painted the early Z1 color for a customer in California, and just in time to make the 2007 Legends Show at Half Moon Bay.
The bike took 2nd place in class at this most prestigious show, and came back to take 1st place at the Soquel Show a month later. Added 8-24-07

This is a 1973 Z1 that I painted for a customer in California. It was done in the Green and Yellow colors, which were not available in the United
States. The colors are similar to the Green and Yellow that was available on the 1974 Z1A's. Added 5-31-07

This 1975 Kawasaki Z1B was painted by a customer in Washington state using a Paintworkz formula paint kit.
The stripes are decals that were cleared over. The bike is an all original, unrestored, super low mileage beauty that he bought brand new back in 1975.
The only reason why he redid the paint is because the bike is way to nice to have a faded paint job. Added 5-25-07

This is a Kawasaki KZ1000 Street Fighter that was built by a customer in California.
The paint job was done in a 1975 Z1B Candy Wine Red color scheme, including the carbon fiber front fender. Added 3-14-07

This Super Candytone Blue 1975 Z1B was restored by a customer in Mississippi. He purchased one of my painted body kits to finish off his project.
The kit utilized PMC reproduction tail section and side covers with a used O.E.M. tank. Added 11-27-06.

This early model two digit serial number 1973 Kawasaki Z1 was painted for a customer in California. The first 2200 or so built were a slightly different color if they were
Candytone Brown/Orange compared to the later model year 1973 bikes. Since they were built in 1972 some of these early bikes were actually titled as a 1972 Kawasaki Z1
in some countries outside of the US and that is why they are sometimes called 1972 Z1's Outside of the Continental United States the 1973 Z1's were also available in
Candytone Green/Yellow. Added 6-15-06.

This 1976 KZ 900 was painted by the Paintworks for a customer in New Zealand who wanted the look of a "Jaffa" 73 Z1.
The Paintworks modified a 1974 Z1A tank to accept the smaller 73 emblems.
Once cured, the painted body part kit was shipped half way around the world and arrived without a mark in it. Added 2-25-06.

This restored basket case 1973 Z1 900 was painted by a customer from North Carolina using Paintworkz Formula Z1 paint. Added 4-12-05.
